Reply with quote Re: Have you tried installing the latest Realtek sound drivers for Vista, R works well. Wow what a difference. There have been issues with older kernels with ethernet and DRM. I installed windows 7 and everything Thanks sorry to report bad news to you, but most of my findings are that this card wasnt supported with Vista Chime in anyone else?
What can I do next? I have a question to ask concerning DOS audio under this laptop.
I reccomend Gentooand have had no hardware problems. But hey I really appreciate the effort and research finding the driver anyway. One problem that seems to ego up is with power management and suspend modes while running on battery.
News flash,Linux is still not user friendly no matter what linux claims. Solved Thanks to Jan Spitalnik look at the source for his email address for a quick program that alleviates the freeze problem! Windows games ran fine no problems there but dos games didn’t get any sound as explained in the first post here. This disclaimer is souhd to you thanks to the BSA.

This officially solves the last problem I had with this laptop! Once again I am in love with Windows 7 and will probably never go back to Linux.

I’v spend a few hours on the internet trying to find appropriate drivers to no avail. Hair pulled out and fingernails chewed to the nub!!! Evidently, if power management shuts off your screen, your keyboard and mouse won’t work. This site hosts no abandonware.
